Punjab University will remain closed from Friday, September 10 to Monday, September 13 on account of Eid-ul-Fitr. A notification has been issued in this regard. Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Punjab University Jamia Mosque, Quaid-e-Azam (New) Campus will be offered at 8:00 am and the sermon will be delivered at 7:30am. The university's buses will leave for mosque at 7:15 am from campus colony.
Meanwhile, Punjab University awarded PhD degrees to Uzma Saeed, Ali Muhammad and Zawar Hussain in the subjects of Molecular Biology. Uzma Saeed D/o Hafiz Muhammad Saeed was awarded PhD degree after approval of her research thesis entitled "Identification and Characterisation of Drought Tolerant Genes in Cotton by Gene Homology."
She completed her thesis under the supervision of Professor Dr Tayyab Husnain of National Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, University of the Punjab, Lahore. Ali Muhammad S/o Dost Muhammad was awarded the degree after approval of his research thesis entitled "Search for a New Deafness Locus/Gene in Sindhi Inbred Families."-PR
