Power shortfall registered a steep fall of 1,000MW with decreasing mercury and downward trend in usage of electronic appliances, particularly the air conditioners in the city Muhammad Asif, Director Load Management Pepco said rising outflow of consumers from Lahore to their native areas has also brought down the demand pressure on system. He said the electricity usage reduces with the start of Eid festivity, as outsiders moving to their native areas.
It may be noted that the power shortfall had crossed 3000MW during last 24 hours. However, heavy rain on early Wednesday morning brought the mercury to 27C, which registered a considerable reduction of 1000MW, said Director Load Management Pepco. The power generation stood at 13758MW against a demand of 17022MW with hydel generation at 6444MW, thermal generation at 2063MW, IPPs at 5189MW and RPPs at 62MW. Meanwhile, supply to the KESC remained 730MW.
