The city received another short spell of monsoon rains on Thursday and according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast the city is likely to get more rains on Friday (today). Due to the heavy rain commuters had to face many problems. The rain also caused traffic jams on main roads and bridges.
The supply of power to many areas of the city was stopped due to the tripping of over 40 to 50 feeders. Some parts of Korangi, Keamari, Gulshan Iqbal block 6, Gulistan-e-Johar, Liaqatabad, Oarangi, Saddar, Jamshed Town etc faced power breakdown due to electric faults. However, the KESC spokesman claimed that the tripped feeders were rectified within a short time. They said only 15 to 20 feeders were tripped in different areas and the restoration works on all such feeders was underway.
