Former President Pervez Musharraf will launch the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) formally on October 1 in London. The APML sources told Business Recorder that close aides of Musharraf were persuading legislators of the PML-Q, PML-Like Minded Group, PPP-patriots, former district nazims and some other political figures for formally joining the APML before the launch of the party.
According to the sources, former district nazims are also being approached by close aides for formally joining the APML. According to the sources, former president has evolved a political strategy to play active role amid severe public criticism on the ruling parties.
Conversely, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has not so far formally registered the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) despite submission of requisite documents by Barrister Saif. The registration of the APML is still pending with the ECP, said Barrister Fawad Chaudhry, one of close aides of former president while talking to this scribe. He added the main reason for non-registration of the APML with ECP is that composition of Election Commission of Pakistan has not been made after the passage of 18th Constitutional Amendment.
When asked as to whether the PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussein and Chaudhry Parvez Elahi have also been invited for APML's London moot, Fawad Chaudhry said no invitation has been extended to them as yet. However, he claimed that over 40 MNAs would attend the launching ceremony in London. When asked to give names of the participants he said the names would be made public shortly.
