In Karachi, thousands of flood victims are living both sides of Main National Highway and Super Highway along with their families under open sky and also a large number under bridges, parks etc. They are facing more difficulties as compared to those who are living in flood relief camps.
It is pertinent to note that they are not living at such places on their own but were compelled to do so as flood relief camps are already over crowded. It is the duty of the Sindh government to set up more flood relief camps and provide them with all basic amenities including meals and medical facilities on urgent basis.
The number of children dying from gastro reached to alarming level in flood camps and outside. Despite the fact that newspapers are printing photographs of dying victims frequently, one is amazed to read statement of our honourable federal Health Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin claiming that no one has died from gastro in Sindh.
