Executive Secretary, Caritas Pakistan Yasmine Joseph has said diseases are fast spreading in flood-hit areas of Jhang due to unavailability of clean drinking water. Caritas Pakistan Faisalabad will continue its relief activities in Jhang.
Joseph said that diseases like scabies, malaria and gastro are spreading in the flood-hit areas of Jhang and to deal with the current health situation Caritas Pakistan has set up three free medical relief camps. Medical relief activities in most of the affected areas are not enough to meet the requirement of the people.
Talking to newsmen, at a free medical relief camp in the Moza Piple Wala, Jhang, she informed that about 162 people including children, women and men are suffering from joints pains, cough, soar throat, scabies, malaria, fever, eye diseases and motions.
Dr Javed and their team members are giving free medicine provided by the Caritas Pakistan. Commenting on the role played by the Caritas Pakistan Faisalabad, Amin Masih Disaster Management Coordinator said that Caritas Pakistan Faisalabad is a social wing of Catholic Church and is mandated to work on relief activities during the emergencies.
