Pakistan's teenage pacer Mohammad Aamer, who is implicated in the spot-fixing scandal that has rocked the world of cricket is considering to become informant for the International Cricket Council (ICC) to escape life ban, an Australian newspapers claimed on Wednesday. Aamer is poised to turn informant and roll over on the Pakistan team-mates and dodgy betting identities that corrupted him, The Daily Telegraph said.
According to the newspaper, Mohammad Aamer is seriously considering providing important information to the ICC and police regarding match-fixing. He would likely to provide evidences regarding other players including Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif due to which he may face difficulties from the match-fixing mafia. The newspaper also claimed that Mohammad Aamer may be given leniency after becoming informant. Meanwhile, ICC chief Haroon Lorgat had said in a statement that Aamer should be given benefit of his tender age.
