In a historic move, the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) has been merged with Pakistan Muslim League (F), declaring Pir Pagaro as party chief. However, decisions on mechanism for running the party are yet to be taken by the two groups' top leadership with a clear message which Pir Pagaro sent to other factions of the League, besides inviting chief of Pakistan Tehrik Insaf Imran Khan to join him.
Speaking at a press conference after holding talks with Shujaat Hussain and Mushahid Hussain, Pir Pagaro called the development as dissolution of PML-Q into PML-F and said that the two groups had solved their differences of opinion. He said that the name of the party would be PML-F, as he claimed that the Supreme Court had declared only functional League as the Muslim League. He said that it would depend on PML-N to join or not, but other factions would be invited to come together to serve the country.
Regarding inviting Musharraf and making him chief of the party, he said that such decisions were left to the party's council to take, and added that merger of the factions was necessary. Pir Pagaro called the merger as "more than a revolution", saying that the Muslims League would form the next government in the country. He rejected the impression of bringing a no-confidence move against the Prime Minster, saying that his party was just making ways for political consolidation and not for-divergence.
Shujaat said that the country was undergoing a critical phase of history, and merger of the two Leagues was important to bring Pakistan out of crisis. He said that details regarding running the party were still needed to be discussed. He said that unification of all Muslim Leagues was good for the nation under one leadership to pull the country out of the prevailing crisis. He said that Pir pagaro's was an acceptable personality for his party to lead the Muslim League.
