The Karachi Port handled 83,634 tonnes of cargo including 72,537 tonnes of import cargo, 11,097 tonnes of export cargo, 3,566 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 72,537 tonnes comprised of 17,130 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,117 tonnes of general cargo; 16,590 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,661 tonnes of rock phosphate; 5,337 tonnes of DAP; 4,540 tonnes of wheat; 5,052 tonnes of steel scrap and 32,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 11,097 tonnes comprised of 5,285 tonnes of containerised cargo; 580 tonnes of general cargo; 3,932 tonnes of cement and 1,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely Chem Norma, Gulf Tiger, Conti Express, Duburg, Concord, Saeed, Busan Express and Eastern Highway sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Thana Bhum, APL Turquoise, MT Swat, Ocean Project, New Legand Sun and Eastern Highway are currently at the berths. One ship namely Union Carrier expected to sail on Wednesday, while five vessels viz Bunga Raya Sambilan, Ginga Panther, Liberty Eagle, MT Swat and Mazin Arab are expected to sail on Thursday. Four vessels viz Hanjin Buenos Aries, MSC Anafi, Thuringia Express and Unicorn Brave due to arrive on Wednesday, while six ships namely Kota Arif, HS Bruckner, Lt Triesta, Alliance Norfork, Fatema Jahan and Tom Ship-1 are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 75,499 tonnes of cargo includes 53,779 tonnes of import cargo and 21,720 tonnes of export cargo inclusive of containerised cargo carried in containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours.
The total import cargo of 53,779 tonnes includes 5,400 tonnes of palm oil; 5,445 tonnes of sugar; 13,337 tonnes of phosphoric acid and 20,232 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 21,720 tonnes includes 3,540 tonnes of cement and 18,180 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Four vessels viz CV Al-Noof, CV Malieco, CV Northern Diplomate and MT Chem Orchid sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three more ships namely CV Nedlloyd Barntsz, MT Stolt Markland and MT Hae Song are expected to sail on Wednesday.
A total number of nine ships namely CV Nedlloyd Barntsz, CV Al-Noof, CV Malieco, MT Sapphire, MT Hae Song, MT Chem Orchid, MV Royal Pearl, MT Stolt Markland and MT Dubai Sun are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sugar, palm oil, iron ore and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Eight vessels viz ACX Marguerite, CV MSC Jade, MT Dubai Sun, MT Karachi, MT Fly Eagle, MV Souna Swiber, MT Orbit and MT St. Martin carrying containers, iron ore, crude oil, furnace oil, project cargo, sugar and LPG are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of six ships namely ACX Marguerite, CV MSC Jade, CV CMA CGM Turquoise, MT St. Martin, MT Karachi and MT Prosperity carrying containers, chemicals, crude oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday. Three vessels viz CV CSAV Appennini, CV OOCL Kobe and CV MSC Peggy are due to arrive on Thursday.
