Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and veteran Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Geelani have denounced Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna's statement that Kashmir is the integral part of India. The two leaders, in their separate interviews, said Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognised disputed territory and Kashmiri people have yet to decide their fate, Kashmir Media Service reported.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said India's intransigence is the main hurdle in resolving the Kashmir dispute. Syed Ali Gilani said relevant United Nations resolutions stand testimony to the fact that India's claim over Jammu and Kashmir is unjustified and it has occupied the territory illegally and totally against the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Also, illegally detained senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah while talking to media-men at a hospital in Jammu, termed referendum in Jammu and Kashmir as the only solution to the longstanding conflict. Shabbir was brought to the hospital from Kot Bhalwal jail for a medical check up.
Meanwhile, the puppet administration continues to impose strict curfew in Srinagar and other cities and towns of Kashmir Valley for 13th consecutive day. Stringent restrictions were put in place to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations, call for which was given by Syed Ali Gilani as part of the 'Quit Kashmir Movement'.
