Former Chairman Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) Khalid Mirza has said that the passage of the Competition Bill by the National Assembly has shown confidence of the government into the agency for protection of the general consumers. In his reaction to the passage of the Bill, he told this scribe on Friday that this is a welcome step by the government, as competition gives market the best chance to grow, discouraging monopolies and cartels for the benefit of the consumer.
He congratulated CCP team headed by Rahat Kaunain Hassan for passage of Bill by both the houses of the Parliament. The President should early sign the Bill so that it could become law without delay, he added.
