The team of veterinary doctors conducted surprise raids on illegal slaughter house here at Mansurabad early morning and found slaughtering of weak and unhealthy animals. Three butchers Ghulam Mohyudin, Badar and Muhammad Hafeez involved in illegal slaughtering of animals were arrested on the spot and the meat some 280-kg was taken into possession.
According to District Officer Livestock Dr Abdul Rehman, a team comprised of veterinary Dr Liaqat and Dr Saleem Anjum was constituted on receiving complaints against the unauthorised and illegal slaughter house and the team alongwith the police force conducted successful raids. The case has been registered against the accused with the police station Mansoorabad and meat taken into possession had been destroyed, which was injurious for the human consumption. He said that the campaign would continue against sale of substandard, unhygienic and water adulterated meat in the district.
