Englishman John Parry won his first EPGA event here on Sunday when he held on to win the Vivendi Cup. The 23-year-old tour rookie claimed the 169,000 pounds winners cheque with a two-shot victory over Sweden's Johan Edfors.
The European Ryder Cup team received a boost ahead of next week's clash with the United States as three-time major winner Padraig Harrington carded the best round of the day - an eight under-par 64 to finish in a tie for eighth place.
The Irishman has been a contentious choice by captain Colin Montgomerie having not won for two years but opted to play here to try and play himself into form.
