In order to overcome the unemployment problem faced by youth, especially the educated class, on permanent grounds, the AJK government was chalking out a broad-based plan to create employment opportunities, official sources said.
The sources told newsmen here on Monday that various elaborated steps were proposed to be taken to create more job opportunities in public and private sector by launching a broad-based micro-credit scheme to extend soft term loans to the jobless educated youth, so that they could set up their own businesses.
Concrete steps would also be taken to produce skilled workers in various technical disciplines through their participation in short and long-term technical training programmes in the state-run Vocational Institutions, the sources added.
Moreover, over 2,000 new jobs in public sector institutions, including autonomous bodies would also be made available during the current year under the plan, the sources said, adding necessary funds would be earmarked for this purpose. "Various ministries and public-sector corporations of AJK will also ink short and long-term plans to launch various development projects in the State which would also open new avenues of employment for the unemployed youth.
