Sindh Finance Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah has called upon the officials of finance department to control expenditure in order to match resources. Expressing his views at a presentation made to him by Resources, Budget, Public Private Partnership Unit Initiative Wings of Finance Department in the Committee Room of Finance Secretary Office, Murad said there is a need to adopt appropriate fiscal measures to ensure that we fulfil objectives of rehabilitation of flood affectees of the province without affecting the development programmes.
Referring to the issues confronted by the finance department, the minister said he will hold meetings with the federal finance minister and with relevant concerned officials to ensure that Sindh get its due funds without any delay. He also said that in the next Sindh Cabinet meeting, he will apprise the cabinet members of the overall financial position of Sindh government. He further said that he aims to make finance department operations transparent and assessable. He, on this occasion, asked Secretary Finance Mr Muhammad Siddique Memon to ask Police and Education Department Heads to ensure that all their employees, who have not been enlisted on computerised official pay roll, send their forms at the earliest so that their salaries are paid through banks.
Earlier, in the presentation made to minister of resource, budget and PPP initiative wings Sindh Finance Minister was apprised of the organisational structure, vision, objective, functions of the section arid was informed that during the current fiscal year 2010-11 the receipts would be rupees 397.1 Billion while expenditure budget will be rupees 422.3 billion.-PR
