Three more matches were decided in Pakistan Premier Football League on Tuesday. In the first match, Pakistan Army failed to complete double over Pakistan Navy and suffered 0-1 defeat, while card-less match saw Nushki Baloch Football Club hold NBP. In another match Afghan Football Club notched their fourth win by inflicting 3-2 triumph over KESC.
The Army-Navy affair was the second leg between two strong Services teams of the nation. Seamen levelled the term with identical 1-0 scoreline over the soldiers. Thirty-year-old Faisalabad born midfielder Abdul Haq gave Navy their first win in the competition when his low, angular drive went into left corner in the eighth minute. For the rest of 82 minutes, Army tried all out to restore parity but Navy defence halted all their surges.
PFF League Champion 2008, Baloch FC and NBP were involved in dull; drab 0-0 affair with midfield skirmishes dominated the match. It was easy match for Saeed Jr. who avoided Caution/ Expulsion card throughout the 90-minute play. Baloch FC recorded eight points from five matches, while 1993 NFCC Champion NBP had produced six points in same number of visits to the field.
Afghan FC joined Pakistan Wapda on 13 points when they put up fine display in first half to beat KESC 3-2. Striker Moaz Khan landed the opener in the 37th minute following a fine work by winger and skipper Jadeed Khan. Midfielder Abdul Hadi consolidated the lead four minutes later from a free kick, as home team led 2-0 at interval. The writing was clear on the ball when international midfielder Jadeed thumped in the third goal after Abdul Nasir curled the ball from right wing in the 46th minute.
KESC staged recovery to pull two goals. Aftab made it 1-3 in the 50th minute, while Muhammad Rasool, PPFL 2008 Edition Top Scorer for KRL, made it 3-2 in the 59th minute. KESC went all out for the third goal but keeper Abdul Ahad was equal to the task imposed on him by Afghan officials. Afghan recorded thirteen points from five matches, while PFF League 2005 runner-up KESC pocketed seven points from five matches.
