Deputy Chairman of Senate Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali has sought more assistance for the flood-stricken people of Balochistan and observed they need help for at least next eight months to survive and fully stand on their feet. He was talking to a team of medical professionals from Germany who called on him at the Parliament House on Friday.
The team carried out relief activities, particularly in the medical field in district Jaffarabad (Osta Muhammad) in Balochistan for more than a month. The Senate Deputy Chairman thanked the German team for their efforts and said the timely arrival of the team in the area helped mitigate the sufferings of the flood victims in district Jaffarabad (Osta Muhammad). He called upon the international community to help Pakistan in overcoming the challenge. He said the team has stayed in Balochistan for more than a month and has carried out relief work in the far-flung area of Balochistan without any security concern.
Members of the German delegation expressed satisfaction over their visit and observed that Pakistan was a peaceful country and they would be carrying a message of peace and love with them. Later the delegation visited the National Assembly and Senate halls where the Deputy Chairman informed them about the working of both the houses and their role played in legislation and policy making.
