People's Lawyers Forum (PLF) Punjab has condemned police torture on lawyers and 'stubborn attitude' of Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif. PLF Senior Vice President Malik Nasir Awan and Additional General Secretary Rana Sufyan Arshad in a statement issued here claimed that the brutal conduct of law enforcement agencies against lawyers was part of a conspiracy.
They alleged that the issue of session judge should have been resolved quite earlier but some elements did not want amicable solution. They supported the countrywide strike called by Pakistan Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council for Monday, adding it was now up to Chief Justice to make a reasonable decision in this context. JAP's Chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique also demanded a "judicial inquiry" into the incident and urged Speaker Punjab Assembly to suspend membership of Sanaullah till the completion of the inquiry.
