The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has received donations of over Rs 5,016,162,951 across the country under the Prime Minister Flood Relief Fund-2010. Of these, the highest contribution was made in federal capital where the bank collected Rs 4,918,899,112 till Monday October 4, according to NBP data. The bank received Rs 58,713,685 from Sindh province followed by Punjab where donations of Rs 30,453,087 have been collected till the above mentioned date.
Rs 5,415,407 were collected from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Rs 2,003,969 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rs 628,691 from Balochistan province and Rs 49,000 from Gilgit Baltistan, the data revealed. The National Bank of Pakistan has also contributed an amount of Rs 50 million for the rehabilitation work of the flood victims while the grand total of total collections includes cheques sent for collection of other banks amounting to Rs 157 million. The NBP has created facility of depositing donations at its all branches across the country in Account No 898989.
