Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) is observing 'World Egg Day' throughout the country on Friday (October 08) to create awareness in the masses about nutritional values of eggs. The Association will be organising seminars and walks in various cities to highlight the subject, while a media briefing is also being held at the Lahore Press Club (LPC) said Major Syed Javed Bukhari (Retd) Secretary of the Association here on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA-NZ) Chairman Abdul Haye Mehta along with Haji Muhammad Riaz, Dr Masood Jaffery and others said that poultry sector is one of the most organised branches of the agro-based sector of Pakistan.
Poultry at present contributes 40 percent of the total meat consumption and generates employment and income for about 1,500,000 people. Poultry is the cheapest available meat protein source for our masses and as such, is an effective check upon the spiralling animal protein prices also, they added. Mehta said that Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) is celebrating World Egg Day by organising seminars at different places to make the general public aware about the nutritional values of eggs.
