Arrest of murderers: Chief Justice LHC takes suo motu notice of police failure
Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif here Thursday took suo motu notice of police failure to arrest the murderers of Sharif Ullah only breadwinner of a family including three blind brothers. Chief Justice directed the SSP (investigation), Lahore and SHO concerned to appear before the court on October 8, along with record and asked the law officer to assist in the matter.
Chief Justice observed that it was a sorrowful state of affairs that the police were unable to trace the killers and advised the blind family to trace them (the killers) themselves. Chief Justice took the suo motu notice on a news item published in a local English language newspaper wherein it was reported that Sharif Ullah, a resident of Khokhar Town Band road, Lahore and only breadwinner of more than a dozen family members including three blind brothers, was murdered a week ago in broad day light.
