Two bills on Balochistan Investigation and Anti-Corruption and Societies Registration (Balochistan Amendment) respectively were moved in the Balochistan Assembly session on Friday. Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani presided over the session. Minister for Irrigation Sardar Muhammad Aslam Bezinjo on behalf of Minister for S&GAD tabled Balochistan Investigation and Anti-Corruption Bill Draft 2010 (Bill No 13, 2010).
Advisor to Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Fauzia Marri on behalf of Minister for Industries moved Societies Registration (Balochistan Amendment) Bill Draft 2010 (Bill No 15, 2010). The Speaker put the two bills to the house, which gave exception to them from Balochistan Assembly Rules and Regulations 1974, Section 84.
Speaker Bhootani disposed off the question hour as the mover Rubina Irfan was not present in the house. He regretted that it had become a routine that legislators use to submit questions with the Assembly Secretariat but they avoid attending the assembly proceedings during question hour, adding their attitude caused deprivation of masses from information on important issues and the government departments.
Speaking on point of order, Minister for Revenue Eng. Zamarak Khan thanked the federal government for releasing salaries of teachers recruited under the Aghaz-i-Haqooq-i-Balochistan Package. MPA Haji Ali Madad Jatak observed walk out to protest search of his vehicle at the hands of police. He alleged a minister for using police to harass him.
Minister for Communication and Works Mir Sadiq Umrani said that if any lawmaker had complaint against other legislator, he should take up the issue at his party platform besides informing the Chief Minister instead levelling accusations on other assembly member in the house.
Minister Habib-ur-Rehman said that first batch of students of Marine Science Department in Lasbella University of Marine Science had passed graduation and sought jobs. He demanded to create posts in the government departments for them. The assembly proceedings lasted for 20 minutes. Later, the Speaker adjourned the session till 11th October 11am.
