Former president Pervez Musharraf in an interview said Nawaz Sharif is 'brainless' and he was more close to the Taliban, a private TV channel reported. According to the channel, Musharraf admitted that the conflict with judiciary was mishandled and that this row made him unpopular. He declared the NRO as the biggest mistake of his life.
He regretted doffing of the uniform. "I should not have resigned as army chief and must have retained the post for another five years," the former army chief said. Musharraf supported the Army role in national policymaking process. Meanwhile, Musharraf had to face embarrassment at a function in Manchester. No sooner did he reach the podium to address his supporters, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) supporters staged protest rally outside the hall and chanted slogans against him.
According to the channel, Musharraf said Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid) is no more there in the hearts and minds of people in Pakistan. Masses have rejected the election symbol 'cycle' also, he added.
