Federal Law Minister Babar Awan has maintained that under Article 10 of the Constitution, the government has a choice to hire or change a lawyer. He was talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly here on Monday. He further said the government would not change its present counsel in NRO case, whether the Supreme Court allows it or not.
"It is our right to change lawyer and we will do so; however, we will never infringe the Constitutional limits," he added. To a question, he said the he was confident that there would be no change in the government and added that the democratic process would continue in the country, and vowed that accountability would not be allowed to turn into revenge.
He denied there was a confrontation between the executive and judiciary and added that confrontation only arises when there was bone of contention between two parties and there was no such situation between the two branches of the state.
