Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) has signed an agreement with King Abdullah's Relief Campaign for Pakistani People for launching joint relief and rehabilitation projects in the flood-devastated areas of Pakistan.
The agreement was signed between country Director HHRD, Fazal-ur-Rehman and Regional Director, King Abdullah's Relief Campaign for Pakistani People Dr Khalid M Alothmani here on Tuesday. In the wake of signing the agreement distribution of food worth 20 million was being started among flood victims of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa of which 28 thousands people would be benefited.
In the first phase, food was distributed in the flood affectees of four union councils in Charsadda, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, which was badly hit by the worse ever flood in the history of the country. In the second phase food would be distributed in Punjab and Azad Kashmir, while in the third phase ration would be distributed in Sindh and Balochistan.
It was containing essential commodities like rice, flour, cooking oil, milk, pulses and other items, which would equally be distributed among flood affectess across the country. Keeping in view, the slowly receding water, HHRD has established 8 field hospitals under large tents. They will be turned into permanent fixtures in the heavily flood-affected areas as the need persists; with a special focus on women and children. To date there have been 12 safe deliveries in the HHRD Medical Clinics.-PR
