On the recommendation of Board of Investment, the Ministry of Interior will issue work visas to 424 expatriates in the various sectors who have applied for jobs during the last two months. According to BOI, these work permits will be issued in sectors like education, telecom, oil, gas and mineral, industry, textile, housing and construction, tourism, communication, food, agriculture and livestock, airlines, power, trade, health, banking along with ports and shipping.
The board granted regular permission to one foreign company to open liaison office in Pakistan during the said period. In the same period, BOI gave permission to foreign companies to open eight branches.
