Assemblies of God Church (AOGC), a Peshawar based humanitarian organisation in collaboration with a German funded organisation on Wednesday set up medical camps in different parts of floods-affected areas. More than 500 patients were examined out of which 300 in Hassanghari, and 200 in Tarnab adversely affected by recent flash floods, said a press statement of the organisation issued here.
Speaking on the occasion A R Hashmat, Chairman of AOGC said that the Assemblies of God Church is serving complete humanitarian basis in the province, adding that his organisation had carried out relief operation following floods in the province.
He said the organisation had established various medical camps for flood affectees since October 8, through which a large number of patients examined. Hashmat said two separate medical camps had set up in Hassangari and Tarnab, wherein 500 patients were provided free medical check-up, medicine and other essential tests.
The medical team was comprised of a doctor, 3 nurses and other paramedical staff, deputed different flood-hit areas of the province, he maintained. He said the organisation goal is to serve ailing and poor nation. Hashmat further said his organisation would not let alone flood affectees at this critical juncture and would provide all kind of assistance to rehabilitate and restore their normal life after the devastated floods.
AOGC, he said, will continue its assistance for flood affectees till their complete rehabilitation and restoration. Hashmat said his organisation also provided food and non-food items to flood affectees. Referring to rehabilitation and restoration of flood affectees, he said AOGC had restored sewerage system and rebuilt streets in Tarnab Form, because it was demanded of the local to reconstruct it as complete washed away from flash floods. He explained that AOGC would set up medical camps in flood-hit areas, within three months, including Charssada, Nowshera, Pabbi, Akora Khattak, Amangarh, Pirpi, Tarnab and Hassangarhi.-PR
