Abolition of party elections: Humayun's petition fixed for first week of November

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Monday fixed petition of former federal minister Humayun Akhter challenging the abolition of party elections under 18th constitutional amendment in the first week of November next. In his petition, Humayun Akhter submitted that the abolition of party election was in violation of political party act 2002. He also termed this relaxation against the norms of democracy and tantamount to usurp fundamental rights of citizens.
