A veteran Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilot, Squadron Leader Muhammad Mujahid (Retd) has received a distinctive award from Pilatus Aircraft Limited in Switzerland for completing 6,000 flight hours on Pilatus PC-7 Aircraft; a feat unmatched by any individual pilot in the world.
Pilatus is world's leading manufacturer of single-engine turboprop aircraft and the only Swiss company to develop, build and sell aircraft and training systems on every continent. For the last 23 years, Muhammad Mujahid had been flying PC-7 Aircraft, gradually accumulating 6,000 hours. In his mastery of flying this aircraft, he even surpassed the experts of Pilatus Aircraft Limited, the manufacturer itself.
Acknowledging the hospitality of Pilatus and accepting the award, Mujahid attributed his achievement to his mentors in PAF and his friends in the UAE. He also thanked Allah Almighty for granting him health and fitness enabling him to log innumerable hours of flying.
He joined PAF in 1969 and honourably served the nation for 18 years before joining UAE Air College in 1987. The former Squadron Leader Mujahid comes from a breed of successful PAF pilots with unmatched skills and competence; a breed that has been well acknowledged for its bravery, ability, and in Mujahid's case, endurance.
