In connection with the World Statistics One day seminar on "Development of statistics in Pakistan" held here at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore. The event was organised by Statistics department in collaboration with Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. All the faculty members from female colleges, private sector Universities of Lahore, University of Gujrat and Islamabad attended the seminar.
The objective of the seminar was to highlight the role of Statistics in our country. Chief guest Vice Chancellor LCWU Dr Bushra Mateen and Dr Ayesha Roohi, the head of Statistics Department LCWU, while sharing her views with recourse persons and the participants said that no research can be done without Statistics. Statistical tools and techniques are used and applied in every field.
The eminent speakers delivered the lectures on various fields of Statistics. An essay competition was also held by the Statistics department. The students of LCWU, Lahore presented the essays on different areas of statistics and top three essays were given certificates of Merit.-PR
