Gold up, silver down

Gold prices on Tuesday mounted to Rs 44,250 per tola from Rs 44,100 on the local market, but silver prices reduced below Rs 700 per tola, traders said. The price of gold per 10-gram reached Rs 37, 928 up from Rs 37, 800, traders said, adding the yellow metal global price was quoted 1368 dollars an ounce up from 1362 dollars.
Silver price went down from historic high of Rs 700 per tola to Rs 690. Similarly, silver per 10 grams were available for Rs 591.42 down from last high of Rs 600, they said. The city's bullion market remained tense and traders opted to close their shops down earlier than usual after news spread across the city regarding killings of at least 10 people in Sher Shah scrape market.
