Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday demanded of the government for early arrest of the people, who according to law enforcers were involved in targeted killings of innocent people in the city, to justify with the heirs of the victims.
Addressing an emergency press conference at MQM Headquarter, Nine Zero, Deputy Convenor MQM Rabita Committee Dr Farooque Sattar said law enforcers have pointed some criminals, who were said to be involved in ongoing targeted killings.
MQM demanded of the President, Prime Minister and Federal Interior Minister to arrest such criminals to justify with the heirs of victims. He said the process of bloodshed, which was started from October 16, is yet to be stopped and above 80 people have fallen prey into ongoing spate of targeted killings. MQM expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demises of last day violent incident in scrap market of Sher Shah and its party workers, he said.
"It was seen that how few armed men brutally killed shopkeepers and customers in the scrap market of Sher Shah, but there was no one to stop them, he said, adding that the eyewitnesses said the criminals visited the market a day before this event and asked different people about some specified people and their shops."
He said Altaf Hussain, the MQM chief, has expressed grief and sorrows over the killing of innocent people in Karachi and asked the workers to show patience. "MQM had offered unconditional support to the government for bringing back peace of the city several time and this time we again offered the government of all out support for the cause," he added.
