Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput, Vice-Chancellor, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro presided over 120th meeting of the Muet-Syndicate here on Thursday.
Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput, Vice-Chancellor who introduced the agenda of the Syndicate after the revised budget estimates of Rs 1162.509 million for the year 2009-10 and annual budget estimates of Rs 1447.284 million for current financial year 2010-11 while reviewing the revised recurring budget for the year 2009-10 and annual budget estimates for Rs 2010-11.
Director Finance informed that these estimates having the deficit of Rs 292.551 million for the year 2009-10 and Rs 509.698 for the current year also includes the bank liability of Rs 75.000 million availed in the year 2007-2008.
Further the Syndicate while approving the Annual Budget 2010-11 for Rs 1447.284 million unanimously recommended and requested HEC to release the government grant at the maximum, so that to enable this University to fulfil its financial requirements without any stoppage and provide appropriate quality education conduct maximum research and academic activities.
The house appreciated the efforts made by the Directorate of Finance to cope with the deficit of the University through Strict Financial Management.
