A three-day International Conference on Energy Systems Engineering ICES-2010 will begin on October 24 (Monday). The conference is being organised by the college of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering E&ME, National University of Science & Technology NUST, in collaboration with Higher Education Commission HEC Pakistan and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers IEEE.
ICESE-2010 would cover top of the line technical issues related to energy, energy management and environment. The conference would include technical papers, panel discussions and a series of tutorials enabling participants to learn about the latest trends in energy systems engineering and technology. The conference would cover areas of conventional energy, fuels and combustion, coal, gas, combined-cycle, nuclear energy-plant design, licensing, construction, commissioning and associated issues.
Furthermore, this conference will also discuss the vast areas of renewable energy ie hydro, wind, solar, geothermal, tidal waves, biofuel, fuel cell technology, lasers, radiation, blue energy and energy island reliability, availability, efficiency and maintainability of energy systems. It will also cover the topic of environment and energy management, planning, policy, ecology, economic issues, green house gases, global warming, the role of developed and developing countries and institutional framework for climate change.
The conference will be attended by keynote speakers such as Dr Paul Jonathan Hogg from university of Manchester UK, Dr Kendra Sharp from Oregon State University USA, Dr John Furze Energy Advisor Holme Bygade Denmark, Dr Murtaza Hashmi VTT Technical Research centre Finland along with National level Academics and Engineers. The event would also include a visit to Buddhist Dynasty Museum, where a functional university existed three thousand years ago. This would be an unforgettable experience for the participants of the ICESE-2010. An industrial exhibition/Expo would provide excellent opportunity for interaction between not only academia and industry but also organisations.
