The process of distribution of 50,000 polyester quilts is being started in seven districts for protecting the flood affectees from cold. Substandard material in these quilts would not be tolerated and a quality control committee has been established in this regard.
This was stated by Director General (DG) Punjab Disaster Management Authority, Khalid Sherdil while presiding over a meeting, here on Friday, regarding provision of relief to the affectees, disclosed an official. Sherdil said quality control committee would check the material used in polyester quilts and in case of substandard material, the company supplying polyester quilts would be blacklisted and also fined. Process of provision of quilts would be completed next month," he added. The DG said 9,000 quilts would be distributed in Mianwali, 1,000 in Bhakkar, 3,000 in Layyah, 4,000 in DG Khan, 19,000 in Muzaffargarh, 4,000 in Rahim Yar Khan and 10,000 in Rajanpur.
