Soneri Bank Ltd has clarified that no robbery had taken place on Oct 17, 2010 at its branch ATM located on I I Chundrigar Road, as had been reported by Business Recorder in its issue of October 22 on page 5 under the caption: 'Rs 20 million taken away: Bank reports robbery to police after two days'.
In its clarification issued here on Friday, Soneri Bank confirmed that the news item was "incorrect", and no such incident had taken place ever. -PR
[BR staff reporter regrets that he was misinformed about the incident by DSP, Meethadar Police Station, Raza Husain. The incident had taken place at Dawood Islamic Bank and not at Soneri Bank, and an FIR was registered at the police station on a complaint lodged by Branch Manager, Dawood Islamic Bank, Masood, on the advice of Brigadier Asif Alvi (retd), Head of Admin and Fraud Control, Dawood Islamic Bank. The inadvertent mistake is deeply regretted.-PR
