Eight people were killed and three others injured when a commuter van swerved into ravine here on Sunday. According to Rescue 1122, the accident took place near Thakerian Morh, on GT road where a Gujranwala bound van fell into ravine after being hit by a speeding truck in the wee hours. As a result, eight people were perished instantly while three other passengers received injuries.
The dead were identified as Shahbaz Ahmad, Hafiz Ansar, Iftikhar Hussain (driver), Aamir, Abdul Baseer, Sardar, Warris and Abid. The injured- Mobeenul Hasan, eight-year-old Kiran and Muhammad Sadiq were shifted to Aziz Bhatti hospital by Rescue 1122 ambulances. Police have registered a case against the truck driver.
