South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE) has announced here on Tuesday that Aftab Ahmed Chaudhry the SAFE Secretary General has assumed the full time position as MD/CEO of Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) with effect from October 22, 2010. With the assumption of duties at LSE, Aftab would switch to honorary role at the South Asian Federation of Exchanges.
It may be mentioned that he has been the main driving force in bringing SAFE to its current level of recognition by transforming it as the most relevant exchange industry association both in and outside the Region. It is hoped that under his dynamic headship, LSE would be able to scale new heights where it is proudly recognised as the best marketplace in terms of governance, value creation, integrity and liquidity, SAFE added.
Aftab has also worked as MD Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) and actively interacted with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to resolve the issues of the local investors of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. He played an important role to effectively represent the ISE in the ongoing process of de-mutualisation of stock exchanges.
