Administrator Fazlur Rehman has taken notice of improper sanitation condition in some towns and directed town administrators to personally monitor the cleaning and spray work in their area and to prepare co-ordinated plan for lifting and disposal of offal at Eid-ul-Azha.
Chairing a meeting of town administrators and EDOs of city government in DCO Camp Office on Tuesday, he said that it is the basic duty of town administration to improve sanitation condition but unfortunately some towns are not paying attention to it.
Earlier the meeting discussed the strategy to improve the overall sanitation condition in the city and to make ongoing fumigation campaign more effective. Addressing the meeting administrator said since the second phase of town wise fumigation has already started and the third one will follow it, the town administrator must personally monitor the work, as this campaign would remain unsuccessful without their support and active monitoring.
He said, the city government has decided to buy five more machines and to hire ten vehicles for the spray works. He further said that city government would provide insecticides to the town administration so that the spray teams will cover maximum area in least time.
Fazlur Rehman added that a well-co-ordinated plan should be prepared for swift lifting and immediate disposal of offal at Eid-ul-Azha. He said, about eighty vehicles and more than thousand workers will be used in lifting of offal from all main corridors of city and the EDO Municipal Services has directed to hold meetings with six town administrators to finalise the plan. EDO Finance & Planning Naila Wajid Khan, EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam, EDO Health Dr Nasir Javed, EDO Works & Services Rasheed Mughal and other officers of city government were also present in the meeting.-PR
