The profit after tax of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has increased to Rs 1,113.771 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2010 as compared to Rs 65.312 million in the corresponding period in 2009.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Thursday declared that the company's earning per share (basic) increased to Rs 1.66 in the period under review against Re 0.10 in the same period last year while earning per share (diluted) increased to Rs 1.33 against Re 0.10.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's sales increased to Rs 34.034 billion in this quarter against Rs 31.471 billion. The company paid Rs 4.407 billion as sales tax in this period against Rs 3.863 billion paid in the same account in the same period last year. Gas development surcharge declined to Rs 1.103 billion against Rs 4.230 billion.
The cost of sales increased to Rs 28.341 billion in this quarter against Rs 23.886 billion in the same quarter last year. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 1,713.494 million in this quarter against Rs 196.248 million in the same quarter last year.
