Businessmen Association for Rehabilitation of Disabled (LABARD) President, and Senior Leader of PML-N Pervez Malik said that LABARD would provide computer training to the blind as well as jobs after completion of their training. He stated this while addressing the concluding ceremony of the 3-day LABARD camp that registered 75 disables here on Thursday.
He said that LABARD would provide training, education, artificial limbs, tricycles, wheel chairs and hearing devices to the disables registered during the three-day camp. Malik said the disabled persons have some God-gifted abilities and able to do something very special therefore they should prepare suggestions for the early rehabilitation of flood affectees. While talking about disability in Pakistan, he said that though the disables in Pakistan are facing various challenges yet blind people were facing massive troubles.
The blind could become a useful citizen by utilising their God gifted additional abilities but lack of opportunities coming in the way, he added. The LABARD services are free for all disabled including blind and special persons living in Lahore or its suburbs, he said and added that LABARD is not collecting a single paisa from disables for its services.
