Islamabad Police have performed well against terrorists and criminals and arrested over 105 terrorists, their handlers and masterminds through successful investigation of almost all terror incidents during the last couple of years.
The year 2010 was very successful for Islamabad Police, as they ensured peace and tranquility in the Capital despite several internal challenges to the force including terrorism, said Bani Amin Khan, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations on Thursday while inaugurating the Recreation Room at Aabpara Police which is especially set up to provide better environment to police officials in their leisure hours.
DIG (Headquarters) Kamal Uddin Tipu, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, SP Industrial Area Jameel Hashmi, SP City Haroon Joya, DSP Ahmed Iqbal, SHO Aabpara Khalid Mehmud Awan and other senior police officials as well as notables of the area were also present on the occasion.
The DIG said that menace of terrorism was stamped out by our valiant cops who successfully nabbed several terrorists and their accomplices. He said that police officials deputed at the police pickets are ensuring protection to the lives and property of the citizens by putting their own lives at risk. "There have been challenges for the cops and those performing duties at entry and exit points but they put their lives in danger to ensure safety for others," he added.
He said that several facilities are being provided to the policemen deputed at police stations, barracks and other wings with an objective to enhance the capability of the personnel. If various problems of the police personnel are resolved as per their desire, they will deliver effectively and their performance will improve, DIG said while unveiling the plaque of new established recreation room at Aabpara police station.
He said that cops are being provided more facilities to enhance their performance. Recreations rooms, better mess system have been established in police stations, he said, adding that gyms in all police units are also being established for better fitness of police personnel.
For better performance of police personnel, he said it is mandatory to provide better living standard. Bani Amin Khan said that Islamabad Police is striving to enhance the capability of its force and providing various facilities in all police stations and police barracks.
Khan urged inculcation of friendly police ecology in the city and urged all the police officials to enhance the liaison with the community for effective policing. DIG (Headquarters) Kamal Uddin Tipu said that Barber shops, tailors shops and proper mess will be established soon within the other police stations for police personnel. He said that complaint units have been also established at the police stations for immediate redressal of the problems of the citizens.
