Bashir H. Ali Mohammad, CEO and Chairman, Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited, has been unanimously elected President of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) for the next two years becoming the first Pakistani to be elected to the prestigious post. Bashir H. Ali Mohammad assumed his post at the ITMF's Annual Conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil, held earlier this month.
Speaking at the occasion, Bashir said, "It is matter of pride and joy for Pakistan and for the hardworking members of the Pakistani textile sector that one of their own has been elected to this position. I hope to fulfil my duties to the fullest of my abilities and also to bring better international spotlight on Pakistan's credentials as one of the best destinations for quality textile products." Meanwhile, central Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Gohar Ejaz has felicitated Bashir Ali Mohammad, former Chairman APTMA, for his unanimous election as President International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF).
He expressed the hope that the experience and wisdom being carried by Ali Mohammad would be helpful in building a positive image of Pakistan and its textile industry around the world. He said Pakistan textile industry would greatly benefit from Ali Mohammad's presence in the international office like ITMF.-PR
