Irri 6 Sindh, bajra, castorseeds, rapeseeds, rose, the former two twice, having the week ended on October 30, 2010, very much in line with commodities doing elsewhere in the world.
On the opening day Irri 6 Sindh, better type, rose by Rs50 to Rs3300, while low type dipped by same amount to Rs3175. Bajra on grams side better quality rose by Rs 100 to Rs3100, while lower quality Bajra was unchanged at Rs2300. On the cereal side barley Sindh and Mardan turned sharply lower by Rs450 to Rs 2550. Gur better type was lower by Rs200 to Rs7800, while the low type was put at Rs6000. On the seed side castorseeds Sindh rose by Rs200 toRs2200 and cotton cakes with bag in Sindh rose by Rs40 to Rs 1280 and Rs 1300.
On Tuesday Bajra sustained rising streak for the second day better type gaining Rs 100 to Rs3100, while the other type was unchanged at Rs3200. Rice Irri 6 Sindh followed suit as low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs3275 and the better one was unchanged at Rs3300. Gur low type, however, shed Rs 100 to Rs5900, while the other variety was quoted at Rs6800. Cotton cakes with bag in Sindh lost Rs20 toRs 1320, while the other type showed no variation and stayed at Rs 1280.
On Wednesday commodity markets showed minor changes, as buyers were few and far between, as boost in price of rapeseed Nawabshah low type was marked higher, which gained Rs25 to Rs2100, while better type was up Rs50 to Rs2150. Rapeseed Mirpur low quality rose by Rs25 to Rs2000, while better type rose by Rs75 to Rs2075. Rapeseed cakes low type was up Rs45 to Rs860 while better type gained Rs50 to Rs870. Cottonseed cakes with bag low type lost Rs5 to Rs 1275 while better type shed Rs20 to Rs 1300. On the grain side wheat old with bardana was quoted at Rs2615 and Rs2620, while new type was quoted at Rs2620 and Rs2623.
On Jodia Bazaar chemical items were mixed on (per kg) sodium sulphate quoted at Rs 18, N.J. Taiwan up Rs 10 to Rs 205, formic acid up Re1 to Rs 100, some item from Germany lost to Rs 105, oxalic acid from China up Re1 to Rs65 and citric acid from China up Rs 2 to Rs 102.
On Thursday wheat old with bardana was quoted at Rs2625 and new type was at Rs 2640. Gur low type rose by Rs300 to Rs 6200 while the other type was quoted unchanged at Rs6200. Yellow peas Canada shed Rs 50 to Rs 3050 and Rs3200, peas dal shed same amount to Rs3450 and Rs3600. Yellow peas Ukraine low type lost Rs 100 to Rs 2800, while better type lost Rs 150 to Rs3300 and Rs3500. Bajra, which was showing rising trend stayed put at Rs2300 while the better type gained Rs 100 to Rs3100. Cottonseed oilcake with bag low type lost Rs 5 to Rs 1270, while the other type lost Rs 15 to Rs1285. Irri 6 Sindh maintained rising trend by Rs25 to Rs 3300 to Rs3325.
Lacklustre business was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market on Friday as most of the participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
ON Jodia Bazaar Ceylon raw rubber ended up. The variations were :.CEYLON RAW RUBBER (Per lb): Merryrub (Equivalent to RSS3) edged higher by Rs 5 to Rs 165, RSSV was quoted at Rs 160 and Merryrub (Equivalent to Crape) moved upward by Rs 5 to Rs 180. LATEX: Merrytax (28-kg) was quoted at Rs 1,075 and Thai (G T) was also quoted at Rs 1,075.
On Saturday a few changes were seen as most of the buyers were on the sidelines due to lack of interest. Irri-6 Sindh shed Rs 25 to Rs 3325-3350, other items maintained the overnight levels. Yellow peas Ukraine low type lost Rs 100 to Rs 2900 and best type also followed the same pattern, losing 50 to Rs 3050. Yellow peas dal Ukrain adopted the same path, falling Rs 100 to Rs 3400 and inferior type shed Rs 50 to Rs 3550.
Wheat old Bardan quoted higher at Rs 2635-2640 and new quality registered at Rs 2650-2655 and gur best type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 7000, while the low type maintained the overnight level at Rs 6200. Cottonseeds oilcake with bag low type fell by Rs 15 to Rs 1260 and good quality shed Rs 5 to Rs 1280, other items maintained the last levels.
