NH&MP observes General Hold Up across Pakistan

National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) General Hold Up was observed for three hours through out Pakistan on National Highways and Motorways to maintain the true standards of efficiency and professionalism, besides augmenting notion of soft policing. The campaign is launched on the directions of Dr Wasim Kauser, Inspector General NH&MP here on Monday.
Small packets of sweets and packs of biscuit imprinted with road safety slogans distributed on all toll plazas and by the patrolling vehicles to the commuters travelling on motorways and highways with their families. The road safety stalls were also established at prominent points of highways at service areas on motorways.
During the General Hold Up all zonal commanders (DIGs) as well as sector commanders (SSPs) remained on road and monitored traffic discipline. In the General Hold Up Dr wasim Kauser Inspector General visited and inspected the different parts of motorways/highways. During his visit, the IGP directed the Patrolling officers of Motorway police to present their highly sophisticated behaviour and graciousness with the violators and execute their duties with keenness and allegiance.
He articulated the standard operating procedure of NH&MP field working and said that during the public dealing, the patrolling officers must receive the violators with smile and felicitation and execute his responsibilities as per law with politeness and respect. He stressed upon the progressive improvement in the field working and maintained overall towering standard of the force.
The soft image that NH&MP has earned is because of politeness, sincerity and selflessness as inculcate a sense of responsibility among the commuters. He further said that attention must be paid to facilitate the distress road users by providing timely help, basic traffic education and briefing all and sundry. The IGP hailed the performance of the police officers, saying that the consistent commitment demonstrated by the officers in providing services to road users was highly commendable.
