Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik has said that there is no major difference between government and its allied parties, adding that mini differences are part and parcel of democracy. "It is democratic right of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to protest against inflation and boycott the session, as it is democratic way to raise the issues," Malik said while talking to media outside the parliament on Thursday.
"There is no major difference between Pakistan Peoples Party and MQM and both the parties have decided to work together for the best national interests and lead country towards economic stability," Malik said. "If MQM has boycotted the National Assembly and Senate sessions, it must be in line with their manifesto," he said, adding 'this is the beauty of democracy'.
He said the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has suffered a shock due to the assassination of Dr Imran Farooq. Responding to a question about law and order situation in Karachi, Interior Minister said that the law and order in the city is improving with the passage of time. "We took measures to bring Karachi to normalcy and it worked and now there is complete peace", he added.
As far as the crime in Karachi is concerned it is not only problem of Pakistan, but it is a global problem, however government is taking every possible step to control the crimes in country, he said. "It is the beauty of democracy that our workers are shouting the slogans against government," he said, adding that no one has the courage to attack at the house of Sherry Rehman. To another question Malik said that if there is any inflation in the country it is right of every political party to protest against the inflation and it is principle of democracy that everything should not be taken negatively.
