A healthy inflow of $12.6 million of foreign investors portfolio investment (FIPI) was witnessed at the equity market during the week ended on November 5, 2010. According to the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCP) data, a huge inflow of $31.82 million of this mode of investment was recorded during the preceding month.
"The foreign investors'' interest continued at the local share market during the week and the offshore players took fresh positions in different stocks", analysts said. However, their interest was seen in only a few stocks, they added. Foreign investors remained net buyers of shares throughout the week. Their interest was seen on the start of the week with a healthy single day inflow of $3,745,946 on Monday. As many as $1,187,797 came in the country on Tuesday. On Wednesday, an inflow of $4,188,610 was seen, while $497,617 came into the country on Thursday, and $3,043,028 on Friday.
