Official at Edhi Foundation Information Bureau told Business Recorder that Edhi Foundation has sold out some old ambulances and purchased 100 new vehicles. Official said that the conversion of purchased vehicles into ambulances is under process and we are adding these gradually in our ambulance service as it gets converted. Further, that the foundation is converting these 100 newly purchased vehicles not only for Karachi but some of them will also be sent to other cities as well.
He said that 40 new ambulances have been added in to our squad till date this year in Karachi. After that, the number of Edhi ambulances serving in the city has increased to 265, out of which 40 ambulances are for emergency services only, adding that there are 35 Edhi ambulance centers currently working in the city.
Regarding, donations he said that the government is supporting Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation morally not financially because Abdul Sattar Edhi Sahib accept donations only from the public and not from the government or any other state department.
