After closure of almost 3 months, due to devastating floods in the Muzaffargarh District in August this year, AES Pak Gen (Pvt) Company, a 365 MW power plant, has resumed its regular operations successfully, CEO AES Pak Gen, Shahid Khan said here on Saturday.
The project's electricity supply will help overcoming the current power shortages in the country, as it has resumed power supply since November 2. "The power plant has been restored within a record time of less than three months despite colossal damage to the plant casting several doubts on its early resurrection" said CEO AES Pak Gen, Shahid Khan.
The business interruption and property losses are 100 percent covered under insurance and reinsurance agreements with reputed insurance giants both in Pakistan and abroad, disclosed Shahid and added that restoring the plant to it's original condition was a huge task forcing the management to fight against all odds exceeding expectations of all stake holders.
The rehabilitation exercise was lead by the project's own world class engineering team with the continuous support from the original equipment manufacturer MHI UFJ Ltd - Japan, he said. This project is located 55-kilometer from Multan in a small town named Virar Sipra of District Muzaffargarh. The area was adversely hit by the recent havoc in the lower Punjab, which jolted the entire region with its worst ever devastation since 1932.
