The street crimes are on the rise in Federal Capital in spite of repeated claims by City Police high-ups, as over 105 cases of street crimes including cheating, theft, robberies and purse snatching were reported during the week. People were deprived of their valuables including cars, motorcycles, cash, golden ornaments, watches and cell-phones worth Rs 50 million.
According to the data collected by this scribe from police stations, 94 outlaws including 10 women, were arrested by Islamabad Police during the week for their alleged involvement in street crimes, bootlegging, drug pushing, dacoities, car snatching, robberies and other crimes.
Two kalashnikoves, two repeater guns and three 12-bore guns were recovered, besides 15 pistols (30-bore and 32-bore), three dagger and 450 rounds from the outlaws. Islamabad Police recovered 2.1 kilogram heroin, 4.5 kilogram charas and 150 bottles of wine during the week. People were deprived of 12 vehicles during the week that include five Mehran cars, one Suzuki Margalla car, two Suzuki pick ups, two Toyota Corolla, two Suzuki vans, besides three motorcycles.
Islamabad Police have busted seven gangs of criminals involved in arms and drug smuggling, bootlegging, robberies, car snatching, theft and prostitution. The Industrial Area Zone Islamabad Police launched crackdown against the anti-social elements during which five proclaimed offenders and five absconders were nabbed who were involved in heinous crime.
The Police team succeeded to arrest five proclaimed offenders namely Farukh Bhatti s/o Abdul Rasheed resident of Faisalabad, Chaudhry Faiz s/o Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqub resident of Rawat Rawalpindi, Sajid s/o Ali resident of Mansehra, Muhammad Fiaz s/o Ghulam Nabi resident of Swabi, Hamsher Ali s/o Gul Sher resident of Charsadda. Team has also arrested five absconders identified as Tariq Mehmud s/o Zar Muhammad resident of Khalabut, Muhammad Hanif s/o Ghulam Fareed resident of Khalabut, Fazal Mehmud s/o Musa Khan resident of Mardan, Jameel Khan s/o Liaqat Khan resident of Rawalpindi, Muhammad Adeel s/o Mir Afzal resident of Abbotabad.
Shehzad Town Police launched crackdown against criminal elements and arrested 33 proclaimed offenders and Court absconders. The nabbed proclaimed offenders and absconders include Shahid Mehmud, Zahid Mehmud, Wazeer Khan, Raza Ali, Zia ul Haq, Muhammad Riaz, Muhammad Hafeez, Zafar Mehmud, Riaz, Faris, Khalid Javed, Tahir Mehmud, Arif Mehmud, Maqsood Akhtar, Chan Raiz, Ejaz Ahmed, Faisal Mehmud, Nadeem Raiz, Zameer Hussain, Tanveer, Nadeem Ahmed, Shamoon, Zahid Hussain, Dad Hussain, Sagheer Mehmud and Sadaqat Hussain.
